Carpenter & Joiner

Overview

We are excited to offer a permanent Carpenter & Joiner position in HMP Manchester, 1 Southall Street, Manchester M60 9AH.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week . Staff are required to work on a rota basis between Saturday to Thursday 08 : 00 - 17 : 00; Friday 08 : 00 - 16 : 00. There will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

What you will do

• Carry out joinery work to include repairing of doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items.
• Responsible for joinery workshop - maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Measure and quote for works.
• Order materials and maintain stock of Building Maintenance material.

Prison Security Clearance including Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
