We are recruiting for a qualified Private Client / Wills and Probate Lawyer to join our busy Whitefield Office.
The successful candidate will be taking over a very busy, successful and well managed caseload supported.
DUTIES
- Dealing with administration of estates from start to finish.
- Preparation and application for Grant of Probate and Letters of Administration.
- Completion of and dealing with all tax forms, in respect of Inheritance Tax, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax and advising with regard to the same.
- Attending to house clearances where appropriate
- Collecting in and realising assets and paying liabilities
- Distributing the estate and preparing income and distribution accounts
- Advising with regard to Tax mitigation and Deeds of Variation and dealing with the same.
WILLS
Taking instructions and advising as necessaryAssessing the capacity of the Client, where necessaryProviding advice on Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax and Tax MitigationDrafting, preparation and attesting of WillsApplying for Statutory Wills, where necessaryTrusts and Tax
Advising generally with regard to TrustsProviding advice on Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax and Tax MitigationDrafting Trust documentsPowers of Attorney / Lasting Powers of Attorney
Taking instructions and advising as necessary with regard to Lasting Powers of Attorney.Assessing the capacity of the Client, where necessaryDrafting Powers of AttorneyPreparing applications with regard to the registration of Enduring Powers of AttorneyActing as Certificate ProvidersAdvising and looking after interests of elderly clients
Dealing with their affairs either under Power of Attorney or without Power of AttorneyAdvising generally and managing financial affairs of clients, paying bills and looking after their investments and assetsAdvising with regard to DSS benefits and making necessary applicationsA knowledge of social care and CHC funding would be useful.Court of Protection
Making applications to the Court for the appointment of a Deputy and all relevant orders and directionsComplying with terms of Court Orders and directionsProducing accounts for the CourtDealing with all necessary formalities of the Court and generally with the Patient’s affairsBusiness Development
Proven experience of business developmentAbout you
2 years PQE +Experience in the full spectrum of private client work necessaryAbility to work in a paper light environmentAbout the role
Hours – Full Time - Monday to Friday - 09 : 00 - 17 : 15Position - PermanentSalary dependent on experience.Monthly holiday bonus scheme (extra days holiday for each monthly income target achieved)This role will be working within a friendly, well established and approachable team.Working on a fixed fee basis means there is no uncertainty as to your outlay.
