HGV Workshop Manager

Overview

HGV Depot Manager – Location : Market Weighton | Salary : Up to £60,000 per year | Hours : Monday-Friday (days), occasional Saturdays

Responsibilities

• Organise daily workshop throughput, assign jobs to mechanics, set and adjust priorities throughout the day.
• Discuss repairs with mechanics and gain authorisation from customers.
• Allocate mechanics to assist with MOT lane throughput as required.
• Explain complex repairs to customers while maintaining a strong MOT pass rate.
• Take control of Health & Safety management : equipment inspections, calibrations, repairs, PPE records, fire alarm tests, legionella monitoring, and more.
• Office-based role handling customer enquiries and bookings.
• Create and manage job cards in the workshop booking system.
• Update system with carry-over work and coordinate with the Workshop Controller on ad-hoc repairs or breakdowns.
• Process parts invoices and progress job cards to invoicing.
