SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH Specialist

We’re looking for a calm, confident, and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to work with children who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The role
You’ll be a steady presence in the classroom, helping pupils regulate emotions, build trust, and access learning. Working closely with teachers and the SENCO, you’ll be part of a team that celebrates every small step of progress.
Your day-to-day will include :
Supporting pupils 1 : 1 and in small groups
Using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour approaches
Helping create a safe, structured space where pupils can learn and grow
Working with therapists, teachers, and parents to keep support consistent
What we’re looking for
Experience working with SEMH needs (school, PRU, or youth work background welcome)
A calm, resilient approach and great communication skills
Someone who can build relationships and bring patience, positivity, and consistency

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
