Head Chef

Overview

Head Chef role at Elysium Healthcare. The position offers no evenings, a five-day work week, and a focus on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You will lead an established kitchen team, oversee the preparation of large-scale meals for staff and service users, and cater for regular activities and special occasions throughout the year.

Job responsibilities

• Coordinating the day-to-day management of the catering team to run an efficient food production service.
• Ensuring that the catering service meets the nutritional and dietary needs of the service users.
• Providing meals to staff and company visitors in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Leading menu planning, providing a varied diet within budgetary restraints.
• Ensuring maintenance and servicing of catering equipment or the environment is reported to the Facilities Manager / maintenance team.
• Seeking feedback, developing and standardising seasonal menu items to ensure nutritious and high-quality food is produced.
• Responding to complaints or incidents, assisting with investigations and referring unresolved complaints as needed.
• Managing stock and equipment in production areas, reporting issues or concerns.
• Managing efficient staff rotas, planning agency and overtime cover, and ensuring absences are covered within agreed budgets.
• Assisting in the completion of monthly audits of the catering provision to maintain standards.
