Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Newcastle Upon Tyne

£40,000-£60,000 per year (DOE). Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a well-established M&E consultancy based in Newcastle upon Tyne, for the appointment of a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their strong engineering team. With a strong project portfolio spanning healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and public sector infrastructure, this client delivers high-quality, bespoke electrical and mechanical design solutions across the full project lifecycle.

Role Overview

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion. You will play a key role in ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance, and efficient delivery of projects across the North East and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed electrical designs, specifications, and reports using software such as Amtech, AutoCAD, and Dialux, in line with current UK standards and client expectations.
• Oversee and manage electrical elements of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections, and attend client / design team meetings as a key technical contact.
• Work collaboratively with the mechanical team and wider disciplines to ensure fully coordinated M&E solutions.
• Provide mentoring and technical support to junior engineers and technicians within the team.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry developments and regulatory changes to inform design decisions.
