  • Salary :  MPR / UPR (FTE £31,650 - £49,084 per annum) + SEN allowance
  • Contract : PermanentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well-regarded all-through school for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD). Candidates may already be working in SEND or may be looking to take the next step into this rewarding area of education. Class teachers typically lead a group of 8 to 12 pupils, supported by a team of Teaching Assistants and a Phase Leader. The pupils are truly a joy to work with!At this exciting time in the school’s development, we are seeking an inspirational Class Teacher with a passion for SEND and a creative, dynamic approach to curriculum delivery. There are excellent opportunities for professional development, including training, research, teacher development programmes, and cross-phase collaboration with other schools.Key Responsibilities as a Class Teacher :
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in line with school and national standards.
  • Plan engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs.
  • Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, SEN professionals, and families to promote student progress and well-being.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment rooted in mutual respect, clear expectations, and celebration of success.
  • Contribute to whole school development and fully participate in school life including assemblies and extra-curricular activities.
  • Lead and implement Individual Learning Plans and contribute to Annual Reviews.
  • Support the wider ethos of the school, upholding core values and championing pupil voice.Class Teacher Skills & Requirements :
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • Experience or enthusiasm for working with pupils with special educational needs.
  • A nurturing approach, high aspirations, and strong classroom management.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for inclusive education and continuous professional growth.
  • Ability to adapt, innovate and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
