What you’ll do on a typical day :
People leadership & succession : Lead day-to-day people management for direct and indirect reports, making people decisions in line with legislation, policy and values, supporting development, succession planning, and the colleague lifecycle through the HR business model
- Operational leadership of Transport : Manage daily Transport operations, including resource allocation, utilisation, capability and performance, to deliver safe, efficient site operations and achieve KPIs across permanent and agency colleagues
- Performance, compliance & safety : Ensure consistent operational standards across the end-to-end transport function, monitoring and implementing compliance with Transport, HSEQ, legislative and policy requirements
- Continuous improvement & decision-making : Identify and present efficiency and continuous improvement opportunities, balancing service and cost, while making informed operational decisions and knowing when to act quickly versus deepen analysis
- Stakeholder & team management : Maintain effective external stakeholder relationships (including customers) and directly manage Transport Team Managers and clerical teams, while indirectly leading wider Transport colleagues across the shift
What you need to succeed at GXO :
Experienced in an FMCG transport environment, qualified or working towards a Transport Manager CPC
