TPF Recruitment is hiring on behalf of a Top 15 accountancy firm in London, seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join a dynamic and growing Corporate & Business Tax team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a tax professional to work closely with partners, senior management, and in-house solicitors to deliver bespoke tax advice and implement strategic tax solutions for a diverse client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

This role provides broad exposure to corporate tax advisory work, with around 80% of time dedicated to advisory projects. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and junior team members, delivering tax solutions from initial engagement through to legal implementation. They will also play a key role in the development and mentoring of junior colleagues, both technically and professionally.

Responsibilities include :

  • Tax Advisory & Transaction Structuring
  • Advising on corporate transactions, including s.110 reconstructions, statutory demergers, and share repurchases, ensuring eligibility for tax reliefs.

Collaborating with legal teams to maintain tax-efficient structures for corporate transactions.

Providing strategic advice across multiple tax areas, including corporation tax, income tax, capital gains tax, VAT, and stamp duty / SDLT.

Preparing tax valuations and clearance letters for submission to HMRC.

Managing tax due diligence projects, working alongside specialists in PAYE, VAT, and other tax disciplines.

Advising on employee share incentive schemes (e.g., Enterprise Management Incentives (EMI)), including preparing valuation reports for HMRC.

Assessing eligibility and preparing advance assurance submissions for EIS / SEIS tax relief.

Producing and reviewing technical tax reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy before submission to partners.

  • Compliance & Technical Support
  • Reviewing complex corporation tax returns, particularly for groups, international businesses, and large corporates.
  • Supporting the General Practice team, reviewing tax computations for audit clients and addressing technical tax queries.

    Supervising and mentoring junior team members handling corporate tax compliance.

  • Business Development & Client Engagement
  • Working closely with partners on client pitches, both remotely and in person.

    Building strong relationships with clients, ensuring high-quality tax advisory services.

    Identifying new business opportunities and contributing to proposals and tenders.

    Requirements

    Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • CTA qualified (ACA / ACCA / ATT preferred).
  • Significant post-qualification experience in corporate tax advisory.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate transactions, tax reliefs, and restructuring.
  • Experience advising on multiple tax areas (corporation tax, VAT, capital gains tax, etc.).
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise tax reports.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organised, motivated, and able to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Ability to deliver work within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • A proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion.
