It is an exciting time to join the General Ledger accounting and control team. We are recruiting for a career driven and meticulous individual to join our team as a General Ledger accounting and financial control manager to manage and account for the newly acquired group of companies, Probitas. You will play a key role in integrating Probitas into our finance system, ensure we account accurately under IFRS 17 and manage the financial control. You will have the opportunity to work with different stakeholders including Probitas and the teams across Aviva.

A bit about the job :

The role holder will own and deliver the conversion of the local GAAP trial balance into UKGI chart of accounts, calculate the IFRS 17 accounting and process into the UKGI general ledgers within the agreed month end close timetables.

Given the complexity of the company structure, the individually will be required to account for consolidated and legal entity views into the ledger and own the transactions, while working closely with the GI reporting and consolidation team to ensure this is all recorded accurately into the general ledger.

The role will also support the Balance Sheet reconciliation and financial reporting for the Probitas group of companies. The role will report into the UKGI general ledger accounting team within GI Finance.

Skills and experience we’re looking for :

Qualified accountant.
Knowledge of IFRS 17 preferable.
Conversion from local GAAP to IFRS preferable.
Experience of operating strong financial control, and of consolidation and elimination.
Strong practical accounting capabilities including intergroup, consolidation and balance sheet analytics.

Salary Circa £55,000 (location, skills, experience, and qualifications dependant)
