Engineering Team Lead – Glasgow | up to £70,000 + Bonus | 4 Days Onsite

This role leads a team of design engineers within a growing technology company based in Glasgow. It combines hands-on technical input with leadership to deliver high-quality products.

The Role

As an Engineering Team Lead, you’ll head up a team of design engineers, ensuring the delivery of products and services that meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. You’ll balance hands-on technical input with leadership, guiding your team through new product development, continuous improvements, and existing product care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Drive new product development projects from concept to delivery.
  • Conduct technical design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee product maintenance and design change management.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Apply design-for-manufacture, procurement, and maintenance principles.
  • Propose robust technical solutions while driving day-to-day process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong leadership experience in engineering or manufacturing, ideally managing small-to-medium teams.
  • A degree in Engineering (or related technical qualification).
  • Hands-on skills in software (C / MatLab) and CAD (Draughtsight / SolidWorks).
  • Project management exposure, with the ability to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Collaborative and solution-focused, with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other engineering IT tools.
