Job Summary
Fixed term for 12 months to cover Employment Break.
An opportunity has arisen for a self‑motivated, well‑organised, dynamic and enthusiastic individual with a passion for research to join our team on a fixed‑term basis until February 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who would thrive on the challenge of working in the NHS environment. Powys Teaching Health Board is committed to working both locally and nationally and driving service transformation, education and contribution to the value and quality agendas. We are seeking to ensure high quality research becomes increasingly culturally embedded in all aspects of clinical service delivery, in order to improve the value of healthcare outcomes and contribute to knowledge to further improve the provision of evidence‑based practice.
It is our ambition to widen the opportunities for research participation for our service users and staff alike, thereby ensuring equality of access to research for the people of Powys. This will require the growth of a thriving research culture supported by appropriate infrastructure. We will provide the opportunity for patients to participate in research enabling a more active role in making decisions about their healthcare, helping them to manage their conditions better, keep them out of hospital, and giving a greater sense of empowerment and a positive and rewarding patient experience.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be involved in ensuring that any research undertaken within PTHB safeguards the wellbeing of the research participants, to include patients, staff and control subjects. This will involve supporting participants through the research pathway, in accordance with the research protocol and relevant legislation. Applicants must have proven research and management and performance experience, highly developed communication and leadership skills, together with the ability to organise and motivate others whilst helping to strengthen the research culture across the organisation.
