Senior Civil Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious Senior Civil Engineer to help develop the infrastructure capability of our growing Civil and Structural department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions across a variety of projects.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Autodesk Civil 3D, Microdrainage/InfoDrainage, and AutoCAD, with a passion for mentoring junior engineers and technicians in both technical design aspects and BIM software integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Civil & Structural design delivery on projects, working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Produce design deliverables (drawings, specifications, and reports), conduct site surveys, and support construction stage duties.
• Ensure that designs meet quality and compliance requirements and align with client specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.
• Oversee the day-to-day management of a small project team.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Report on project performance to senior management.
• Assist with tender preparation and fee estimates.
• Mentor and support the development of engineers, technicians, graduates, and apprentices.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, drainage, pavement design, and external works.
• Demonstrable experience delivering projects in one or more of our core sectors.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of 3D underground services coordination.
• Experience in delivering multidisciplinary projects.

Desirable:

• Chartered or Incorporated Member of ICE (or working towards).
