Job description

Overview

Compliance Officer – corporate compliance experience (including good anti-bribery experience) from any sector is required. The role involves overseeing and managing compliance within the organization, implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations affecting the business globally, including Anti-bribery and Corruption, Modern Slavery, ESG & Sustainability, Sanctions, Cybersecurity, AI & FOSS.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the supply chain adhere to relevant legal regulations, industry standards and internal policies.
  • Manage and respond to customer compliance enquiries and questionnaires.
  • Actively participate in the Regulatory Steering Committee Working Group, taking ownership of projects and tasks assigned to Compliance.
  • Create, review and update compliance policies and procedures to reflect legal and regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform regular audits and monitoring of compliance activities, and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Investigate compliance violations or concerns and work with relevant departments to resolve issues.
  • Act as the point of contact for regulatory agencies and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on compliance topics to ensure awareness and understanding of relevant regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Several years of Compliance or Risk Management experience gained in electronics / manufacturing or another sector (e.g., Financial Services).
  • Hands-on experience in Anti-Bribery & Corruption Compliance with awareness of AML including Sanctions and ESG & Sustainability, even if not covered directly in all areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with all stakeholders.
  • Legally entitled to work in the UK.

  • Location : North Kent, 3 days per week in the office (rural office with ample onsite parking; near M25 junctions with A2 & A20 / M20).
  • Hybrid : 3 days in the office.
  • Industry : Electronics manufacturing and related sectors.
