Strategic Weapons System Support Engineer

Location : Barrow, UK

Duration : 12-month contract

Rate : £72.54 / hour Umbrella OR £53.73 / hour PAYE (+£7.81 / hour Holiday pay)

Work Pattern : 1 week per month on site in Barrow

We seek an engineer who has worked in a military / defence environment within the last 12 months or who is capable of obtaining security clearance (SC level minimum).

Role Overview

We are seeking three royal navy ex-submarine strategic weapons systems (SWS) operators to join a highly niche support team. This is a unique opportunity to work on support solutions and workshop manuals for submarines, contributing directly to operational readiness of strategic weapons platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver support solutions and workshop manuals for submarine strategic weapons systems (SWS).
• Provide technical guidance and advice based on hands-on experience within a SWS environment.
• Work collaboratively with other engineering and operations teams to ensure outputs meet operational and safety requirements.
• Support in-service maintenance and operational readiness of the platform.
• Engage with supervisors, launchers, and camp watch-keepers to understand operational needs and challenges.
