Existing DV (Developed Vetting) is a strong preference due to urgency however existing SC Clearance and eligibility to obtain DV (UK born) may be considered for the right candidate
The Opportunity :
We're looking for a Solution Architect to provide technical leadership and architectural oversight on a brand new high-profile programme delivering new data services for the UK defence community.

The Role :
As Programme Solution Architect, you'll own and maintain the technical strategy and roadmap, while providing solution assurance across the programme. You'll also lead the design, review, and integration of systems and services, covering hardware, software, networks, data and security.
Key responsibilities include :
Providing technical leadership and assurance across the programme.
Owning and maintaining all high-level design artefacts and architecture materials.
Acting as solution lead for change requests raised by the customer.
Working closely with Programme Manager, Chief Engineer, Service and Security Leads.
Building trusted relationships with programme and customer leadership.
Performing systems analysis, functional analysis, requirements allocation and trade studies.
Overseeing integration, verification, validation, and quality assurance.
Contributing to wider technical innovation through solution reviews, white papers and R&D input.
The Person :
You'll be an experienced Solution Architect with the ability to lead large, complex and mission-critical programmes. You'll need both technical depth and the communication skills to engage with executive stakeholders, guiding investment decisions and providing assurance throughout delivery.
Solutions Architecture can mean different things to different organisations but we're seeking SA generalists, rather than infrastructure or network solution architects.
The breadth of technical expertise is essential and you really need to have worked in the UK Defence space to be effective in this Seniority of role.
Essential skills include :
Proven experience defining and maintaining technical solutions for large programmes.
Strong knowledge across core IT domains : Cloud, Infrastructure & Networks, Applications, Data / Analytics / AI / ML, ITSM, Cyber Security, Automation.
Track record of designing complex, mission-critical systems that meet customer needs while staying deliverable to time and budget.
Excellent communication skills - able to articulate and justify solutions at exec level and provide technical leadership to delivery teams.
Experience conducting technical reviews for large programmes and bids.
