Core Purpose
To plan and deliver outdoor and active learning to groups of no more than 8 KS4 students off site from the main school site to support the overall delivery of a vocational curriculum
To contribute to the smooth running of the centre, undertaking other reasonable tasks such as break and lunchtime supervision, providing occasional cover for teachers as needed
Key responsibilities
- Plan as and deliver appropriate learning to support student's academic and SEMH needs through engagement with the outdoor environment
- Provide appropriate support to students to help them consistently meet our ready, respectful, safe expectations
- Assist with other activities related to the supervision of students such as break / lunch supervision, in-class support, cover.

Essential :
Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy qualificationSignificant experience of working with children and young people with complex needsAbility to work independently in a range of settings and at times unsupervised.Ability to relate well to both children and adults, with ability to work effectively within a teamAbility to remain calm and empathetic under pressure or when supporting behaviours that challengeGood organisation and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in an inclusive and non-judgemental way.Understanding of SEND and other barriers to learning that young people may faceGood understanding and use of technology e.g. internet, email, Microsoft officeKnowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures and processesAbility and willingness to drive studentsDesirable :
A relevant, recognised qualification e.g. Diploma in Childcare, NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants, HLTA qualificationExperience of delivering outdoor learning or learning outside of the a \'typical\' classroomKnowledge and understanding of the SEND Code of PracticeKnowledge of appropriate interventions or strategies to support student\'s SEMH needsOther relevant training e.g. Team Teach, first aidAbility and willingness to drive a minibus#J-18808-Ljbffr
