Transport Supervisor / Assistant Manager

Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Transport Supervisor / Assistant Transport Manager to join a well-established transport operation based in West Thurrock.

This role will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day transport activities, ensuring compliance across the fleet, supporting drivers and planners, and maintaining a high level of service for customers.

Key Responsibilities :

Act as the first point of contact for daily operational transport matters.

Monitor the performance of both company drivers and subcontractors, using systems such as Microlise to identify improvements.

Ensure fleet compliance, including WTD, tachograph regulations, and vehicle maintenance schedules.

Support the planning team with accurate delivery schedules, reporting, and KPIs.

Investigate incidents, manage driver performance, and lead by example in maintaining high operational standards.

Coordinate with other supervisors and departments to ensure smooth communication and efficiency.

Handle customer enquiries, quotations, and provide regular updates on deliveries.

Oversee driver pay authorisations and subcontractor costs.
