Accounts Assistant
Location : Dunfermline (Office-based with hybrid options) Salary : Competitive, based on experience
We are recruiting for an interesting and varied Accounts Assistant opportunity within a small, friendly, and growing accountancy practice in the Dunfermline area. As part of a warm and supportive team, you will provide vital assistance to a qualified Accountant, part-qualified Accountant, and Partner across a diverse portfolio of client accounts.
The Role
To be successful in this position, you will need 2+ years of experience in the following areas :
- Financial Processing : Data input, verification, and managing sales and purchase ledgers.
- Reconciliations : Handling invoice, cash, and bank reconciliations.
- Reporting & Compliance :
- Assisting with the preparation of P&Ls and final accounts.
- Supporting Self-Assessments and payroll runs.
- Making enquiries with HMRC and producing ad hoc reports.
- Software & Systems : Proficiency in Excel and experience with Xero (or similar accounting software).
Requirements & Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a background that aligns with our current business needs :
Education : AAT Level 2 / 3 or equivalent.Experience : Previous UK Accountancy Practice experience is highly desirable.Technical Knowledge : Familiarity with supporting owner-managed and small businesses (e.g., FRS 102 for small companies and FRS 105 for micro-entities) is a definite advantage.Eligibility : You must currently hold the right to work in the UK (documentary evidence will be required during the hiring process).Working Environment & Benefits
