The Job

  • The role is key in developing new products, from rack mounting audio processors to 96 fader mixing consoles
  • Involvement in conceptual product development from Design For Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) stand points
  • Working with and maintaining 2D and 3D design tools from AutoCAD Inventor
  • Creating technical drawings for both assembly and specific parts
  • Design validation and verification through simulation and prototyping / testing
  • Liaising with suppliers over technical questions
  • Maintaining and organising Bills of Materials
  • Designing for optimised cost
  • Working with 3D printing, internally and from suppliers
  • Close liaison with Manufacturing to address and resolve production-related issues
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively and co-operatively across multiple disciplines.

    • About you / Qualifications

  • We are open to applicants at all stages of their career, key selection criteria being interest in the products being designed, aptitude and personal fit within our team.
  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering theory in mechanical engineering and product design.
  • Knowledge of 2D / 3D CAD modelling systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly.
  • Experience designing / manufacturing equipment to the recognised standards.
  • Previous experience dealing directly with customers, preparing technical specifications and presenting proposals.
