Friday between 8 : 00am-6 : 00pm.We have an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Preparedness & Resilience Manager to join the Central Control function at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Where you fit in : As our Emergency Preparedness & Resilience Manager you will lead on Emergency Planning and Business Continuity strategies within Yorkshire Water and ensure compliance with legislation such as the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and the Security and Emergency Measures Direction 2022.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Companys Incident Management Plan and Business Continuity Programme and ensure the competence of board and senior leaders through a business continuity training and exercise programme.

You will represent Yorkshire Water externally with regulators, multi-agency partners and stakeholders at a regional and national level, whilst influencing and creating strategies to ensure business and industry resilience.

You will be confident working in a fast-paced and reactive environment with the ability to deliver quality output, with sometimes quite demanding deadlines and during operational incidents. You will be expected to work with cross-business teams and be able to influence and manage multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including board level.

Some of the key role responsibilities include the following

Manage a specialist team of Emergency Preparedness and Resilience Specialists as well as a Business Resilience SpecialistIdentify and highlight further business opportunities to improve service, performance & process improvements in relation to incident customer response, significant events, risks, or threats as an output of the Companys Incident Management Plan.Ensure an effective communication plan is in place for incident management both to internal and external colleagues within Local Resilience Forums.Attend Company Incident Management meetings where required to provide specialist advice and ensure compliance with legislation.Organise and chair incident debriefs at the point of incident de-escalation and share learning and feedback with incident mangers at all levels (Bronze, Silver and Gold).Link previous incidents and lessons together, to identify options for capital investment, PR24 SEMD enhancement delivery and the development of the corporate risk register.Analysis and report writing from incident reviews, linking into wider reporting for Regulatory requirements (DEFRA, DWI, CCW etc).Develop strong working relationships and attend consultative forums and liaise with external authorities as appropriate, including Cabinet Office, Civil Contingencies Secretariat, and other regulatory bodiesWhat skills are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing and leading a team within an emergency planning / business resilience setting, with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance against challenging business targets. Ideally, you will have experience of working within a safety orientated environment. A strong people leader, you will be able to train and develop operational and technical teams as well as the ability to coach, develop and influence senior managementYou will hold the Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) qualified and be educated to degree level in business continuity or emergency planning, the natural environment or similar or have relevant skills through professional experience. You will be knowledgeable in regards the UK Resilience structure, including in depth knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act and the Security & Emergency Measures Direction.

Requirements for Incidents ResponseYou will be confident working in a fast-paced and reactive environment with the ability to deliver quality output, with sometimes quite demanding deadlines and during operational incidents. You will be expected to work with cross-business teams and be able to influence and manage multiple stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including board level. Therefore, we are looking for strong communication, influencing & negotiation skills. You will be confident in preparing and delivering presentations to a professional audience and preparing reports for internal departments and external agencies to a high technical standard.

Previous experience of business planning, resource, and budget management is advantageous as is experience in establishing strategic direction and implementing plans to deliver. You will be comfortable in leading and embedding change and able to influence and drive right culture and behaviours.

You will be required to drive to operational sites across the Yorkshire region therefore you must hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.

A condition of employment is to undergo (successful) security clearance to SC level.
