Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support

Some children need more than classroom help—they need calm, consistency, and someone who truly sees them.

We’re working with several mainstream primary schools looking for experienced Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. This role is all about connection—helping children feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Your day might include :

1 : 1 support for a child with behavioural or emotional needs

Encouraging positive routines and helping manage transitions

Using de-escalation techniques and calm strategies when challenges arise

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor support

We’d love to hear from you if you :

Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs (in school or elsewhere)

Can build trust with pupils who may find learning or social settings difficult

Are calm, consistent, and confident with behaviour management

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
