We have a exciting opportunity for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, currently rated Good by the CQC.
The Portland Hospital is the only private hospital in the UK dedicated to the healthcare of women and children. As the only fully private maternity hospital in the UK, delivering over 1,600 babies a year, we place great importance on providing safe and high quality care for expectant mothers. Both consultant-led and midwife-led maternity care is available, and our aim is to provide you with all the support you need during pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. Womens health issues are treated by a team of 40 consultants, supported by nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and counsellors, with an emphasis on privacy and dignity.
As a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for working across all aspects of the core pharmacy services which may include provision of medicines management, advice and evidence-based practice to inpatients and outpatients, patient and aseptic services, risk management and clinical role will be ward based with ad-hoc dispensary cover when required.

Leading and developing specialist services to Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care
Leading on drug validation and configuration for ICCA prescribing system
Leading on and developing drug validation and configuration for Meditech Expanse prescribing system
Providing expert advice on pharmaceutical matters in PICU and NICU
Participating in clinical audits and transformation projects

Job responsibilities
As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will provide high quality, patient focused, clinical pharmacy services which consistently meet the needs of all service users.
As a Senior Specialist Pharmacist, you will be responsible for working across all aspects of the core pharmacy services which may include provision of medicines management, advice and evidence-based practice to inpatients and outpatients, patient and aseptic services, risk management and clinical governance.
You will be involved in the continuous service and professional development, audit and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs). You will also be a key stakeholder for relevant Quality Improvement Project(s) (QIPs)
You will be integral in providing training, education and mentorship to pharmacists and technical staff.
