Job description

gap healthcare is working with a large- sized charity organisation that supports children and young people on the edge of care, in care, and leaving care. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead two solo therapeutic services in Bury St Edmunds, providing high-quality residential care and fostering a trauma-informed environment where young people can thrive. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate leader to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership and management for residential services, creating a nurturing, inclusive environment
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and all legislative requirements
  • Lead and develop a trauma-informed team to support young people who have experienced multiple placement breakdowns
  • Oversee care planning, risk management, and safeguarding procedures
  • Build strong partnerships with families, social workers, mental health professionals, and other external agencies
  • Manage resources effectively, including staff rotas, budgets, and staff development

Requirements :

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to complete within 2 years)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in residential care for children within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 year of experience managing or supervising a team in a care setting
  • Strong understanding of Children s Homes Regulations , safeguarding practices, and trauma-informed care
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
