Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead a brand new 72-bed care home specialising in elderly and dementia care in Flitwick, Bedfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the mobilisation and commissioning of a new service, with the home aiming to welcome its first residents in April. You will be supported by a strong management structure including a Deputy Manager, two Team Leaders, and an Administrator.
Experience in commissioning a new care home will be a significant advantage.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will have full responsibility for the leadership, operational performance, and regulatory compliance of the service. You will be instrumental in shaping the culture, standards, and success of the home from its very beginning.
Key responsibilities include :
Leading the commissioning and mobilisation of a brand new care homeEnsuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred caref or elderly residents, including those living with dementiaRecruiting, developing, and inspiring a high-performing teamWorking closely with the local authority and external stakeholdersEnsuring full compliance with CQC regulations and preparing the service for inspectionManaging budgets, resources, and operational performanceActing as a positive, visible, and hands-on leader within the homeEssential Requirements
Level 5 Diploma (or above) in Health & Social CareA seasoned care home manager with experience in elderly and / or dementia careProven experience in commissioning new care homes and a strong understanding of the end-to-end processExperience working with or for a local authority, with sensitivity to political and strategic considerationsA hands-on leadership style, willing to roll up sleeves and support the team on the floor when neededA positive role model who is passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing staffStrong experience in CQC preparation, inspections, and working with PAMMS and CQC inspectors / monitoring officersExperience collaborating with leaders across multiple disciplinesAn expert multi-tasker with confident, decisive decision-making skillsWhy Join Us?
