Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Tracheostomy Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. This position requires a commitment to supporting individuals with their daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. A valid driving licence is preferred, as some roles may involve transporting residents.
Client requirements
- Condition : Acquired traumatic brain injury
- Clinical skills experience : Silver Negus tracheostomy (with regular suctioning), bowel management (alternate days), catheter in situ, conveen in use.
- Mobility : Head movement only, wheelchair user, tracking hoist in place
- Support : Full assistance with all care needs
- Behaviour : Can present with challenging behaviour
- Staffing : 2 : 1 support, 24 / 7 cover
- Shift pattern : 10 : 00–22 : 00 / 22 : 00–10 : 00
Qualifications
Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential.Strong communication skills, with the ability to converse fluently in English.A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others.Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.A valid driving licence is beneficial for roles that require transportation of residents.
