Job description

Would you like to kick start your career in a supportive, collaborative and innovative company?

Do you enjoy working as part of an enthusiastic, passionate, and collaborative team?

Success. The Softcat Way.

There's a uniqueness to Softcat – what we do, how we do it and why we do it. That's because we help customers to use technology to succeed, by putting our employees first. We give everyone the chance to step up and show how much they can achieve. We succeed when all our people succeed.

Your Role

As a Personal Assistant, you will be the heartbeat of our Leadership Team, ensuring their days run smoothly and efficiently. From managing diaries and emails to orchestrating key events and maintaining essential communications, your role is pivotal in supporting their goals and our company's success. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy multitasking, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

What you'll be doing

  • Inbox and Diary Maestro: Oversee incoming emails, manage meeting requests, prepare correspondence, and keep the schedules of our Chief Revenue Officer, Public Sector Sales Director and Sales Operations Director in perfect harmony.
  • Meeting Maven: Manage team meeting agendas, take actions, follow up on deadlines, and ensure everything runs like clockwork.
  • Event Organiser Extraordinaire: Plan and execute team socials for your Executives and support with Softcat's annual Kick Off weekend specifically for the Sales region.
  • Conference Conductor: Support vendor conferences with meticulous travel arrangements, meeting schedules, and seamless stakeholder communication.
  • Project Powerhouse: Coordinate strategy offsite days including venue finding, agenda management, catering and onsite logistics.
  • Travel Guru: Book travel and accommodation in the UK and internationally, preparing detailed itineraries and adhering to our travel & expenses policy.
  • Presentation Perfectionist: Design and deliver high-impact presentations that captivate and inform audiences.
  • Communications Champion: Engage with key stakeholders through articulate and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Information Facilitator: Ensure vital updates and information are accurately and promptly communicated to fellow Sales PAs.
  • Expense Wizard: Submit expenses efficiently and accurately.
  • Support Prodigy: Take calls and messages for the PA team and Executives, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. Provide holiday cover for the PA team as and when required.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Support and collaborate with the PA team with upcoming projects and events.

What we need from you

  • Integrity and Discretion: A strong work ethic and high integrity are paramount, as confidentiality is key.
  • Excellent Communicator: Stellar oral and written communication skills across all levels.
  • Admin Ace: Exceptional administrative skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organisational Whiz: Highly organised, resourceful, and detail oriented.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Adaptable and empathetic, with the ability to navigate change with ease.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Time Management Expert: Capable of meeting expectations for fast turn-around times.
  • Independent and Collaborative: Able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve outstanding results.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: Taking initiative and handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Experienced PA: Previous PA experience is a must.

We also acknowledge that the confidence gap and imposter syndrome are a real thing and can get in the way of us meeting fantastic talent, so please don't hesitate to apply – we would love to hear from you!

Work in a way that works for you

We recognise that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too. In this role, we can offer the following flexible working patterns:

  • Hybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home
  • Working flexible hours - flexing the times you start and finish during the day
  • Flexibility around school pick up and drop offs

Working with us

Wherever you work, we want you to experience the freedom and autonomy to realise your potential. You will feel supported by a team that celebrates individuality, encourages different perspectives, and embraces every background.

Join us

To become part of the success story, please apply now.

If you have a disability or neurodiversity, we can provide support or adjustments that you may need throughout our recruitment process or any mitigating circumstance you wish for us to consider. Here at Softcat, we don't prohibit the use of AI (artificial intelligence) in our application process, as we understand how far it can go to creating a truly equitable candidate experience. That being said, as a culture-driven organisation, we believe that the genuine essence of each person is what truly matters, so we highly encourage you to be as authentically you as possible when submitting your application to showcase your true and whole self.
