We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and diligent Senior Architect to join our RIBA Chartered practice on a permanent basis (Part time applications will be considered) in our Brixton, Londonstudio.
BoonBrown have grown into a multi-skilled, multi-discipline practice delivering Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Town Planning across the UK. We operate out of two studios; London (Brixton) and Yeovil and have a 50-strong team who take a collaborative and creative approach, always striving to deliver holistic design solutions.
As part of this role, you will work on a diverse range of project types and scales across our residential and commercial sectors. You’ll contribute to projects from early strategic thinking and concept design through to later technical and delivery stages, depending on your skills and interests. Working collaboratively with colleagues across our London and Southwest studios, you will help shape design proposals, prepare well‑considered information at key RIBA stages, and support the coordination of consultant inputs. This role offers opportunities to engage with clients, influence design quality, and contribute to creating sustainable, people‑focused places. Based in our Brixton studio, you’ll work on projects across both London and the south of the UK, with the support and shared resources of our wider practice.
Responsibilities
The creation and development of design proposals and planning applications through to technical specifications, tender packages, and detailed construction drawings. Experience across all RIBA work stages, particularly 4+.
Actively engage with Clients, Consultants, Contractors, and other construction professionals. Present works, chair meetings including agenda setting and minute writing. Preparing and submitting planning applications, with knowledge of the planning system including NPPF / Local Plans and relevant guidance. Producing project programmes and managing a small team of architects, assistants, and technologists. Carry out Designer CDM responsibilities with knowledge of CDM and BSA Principal Designer roles. Attend and help with site appraisals, surveys, client meetings and site inspections. Being part of a cohesive team, mentoring and supporting your colleagues, to grow and learn together. Understand and able to manage the commercial aspects of the project, including fee preparation, resourcing, and warranties.
Requirements
Have experience in the residential sector including apartments buildings and low scale housing. Experience in healthcare and industrial would also be advantageous.
Be highly motivated, organised with excellent communication skills. Part III RIBA Qualified Architect. Have a strong construction knowledge with ability to produce technical details and specifications. Have at least 5 years UK office based, post qualification experience. Be skilled in the use of Revit. The use of AutoCAD would also be advantageous. We would also consider an experienced Part II Architectural Assistant with the appropriate office‑based experience.
