Role / Department
Responsible for managing NTS Global Foreign Exchange (FX) and Treasury Operations, providing leadership, guidance, planning, direction, and control to the FX operations teams. Oversees and directs activities, ensuring that resources are available to accomplish the business objectives. Develops, implements, and communicates an overall strategy in collaboration with the global FX leadership team and regional department heads.
The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
- Develops, implements, and communicates an overall strategy to meet both the Business Unit's and Corporation's strategic plan. Directs the activities of those areas toward accomplishing those objectives by turning strategic intent into tactical plans.
- Focuses on building and maintaining a premier FX Operations team with an elevated level of client service, in line with NT’s corporate values of Service, Integrity and Expertise.
- Maintains strong relationships with the FX sales, trading, and client service teams to better meet the needs of the client.
- Promotes cross-regional co-ordination of activities and standards.
- Drives an attitude of continuous improvement within the global team, encouraging innovation and the search for productivity gains and cost reductions.
- Encourages an environment of employee participation, teamwork, and open communication.
- Ensures adequate systems and controls are in place such that all functions in area of responsibility comply with legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., CFTC, MAS, ESMA, MIFID) and health and safety and corporate governance.
- Complies with applicable corporate policies, local standards, and service agreements.
- Ensures FX compliance with NTS accounting policy and various reporting requirements including SOX and 2052a.
- Balances the interests and requirements of clients and the bank; ensures conformity with Treasury, Balance sheet and Credit risk requirements.
- Assumes responsibility for overall risk management, including business continuity and recovery across Global FX Operations.
- Sponsorship / management of projects relevant to Global FX Operation.
- Acts as the senior client-facing Operations presence for Global FX in prospective client pitches, due diligence visits, strategic initiatives or significant incidents.
- Guides on FX role in a global custodian, ensuring representation in all aspects.
- Represents Operations on applicable internal committees and councils and participates in industry development bodies.
- Acts in accordance with the FCA conduct Rules and Northern Trust Fitness and Propriety expectations.
- Demonstrated experience in increasingly senior roles and within major companies in the same sector.
- Effective communicator with the ability to articulate strategy and direction; translates broad strategic intent into tactical plans.
- Detailed knowledge of industry obligations, FX regulations, balance sheet regulation and controls.
Skills / Qualifications
Proven experience in a major financial services business with substantial year-on-year growth.Demonstrated experience in managing large teams and multiple managers.Experience in a heavily regulated and fast-paced environment; proven track record in managing business activities and risk mitigation.Experience operating within regulated financial services entities across multiple jurisdictions.Working With Us
