Job Overview

Our client is looking to appoint a Caretaker to start in January/February 2026. The successful Caretaker will play a key role in the day-to-day maintenance security and presentation of the school site ensuring it remains a safe clean and well-maintained environment for students staff and visitors.

The Role

The Caretaker will be responsible for a range of duties including:

• Opening and closing the school site including key holding and security checks

• Carrying out routine maintenance repairs and health & safety checks

• Maintaining school buildings and grounds to a high standard

• Setting up rooms for lessons exams and school events

• Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues

• Supporting health & safety and safeguarding procedures

Caretaker Experience and Requirements

• Previous experience in caretaking site maintenance or a similar role (school experience desirable)

• Practical skills with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks

• Good knowledge of health & safety practices

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Legal right to work in the UK

• A proactive reliable and team-oriented approach

Location: Leicester West Midlands

Start Date: January/February 2026

Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
