Working for Caterpillar Caterpillar Peterlee is the worldwide source of Cat Articulated Trucks, currently producing an 8-model range used in many industries including mining, construction, and aggregates. The facility's manufacturing activities use the latest computer analysis techniques, robotic technology, and a state-of-the-art paint plant. Machines from the site are shipped to customers around the world.During the course of the apprenticeship, students will work towards achieving their qualification supported by their line manager, technical mentor and Learning & Development team in addition to their academic learning through their training provider and work-based assessor. Structure of the apprenticeship Level 3 Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician The first year of the apprenticeship will be spent studying full time at Hartlepool College. Following this, years 2 - 4 are spent in the workplace with a weekly day release to college. Day release to college may reduce to 3 years depending on existing qualifications.
