A mainstream primary school in Bristol are looking for an experienced teaching assistant or learning support assistant to join their team as a Behaviour Mentor. The role will involve working 1 : 1 with a Year 5 pupil who displays challenging and anti-social behaviour.
- £17.75 per hour – PAYE, including holiday pay
- 20 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, 08.30 – 12.30
- Bedminster location, easily accessible by public transport
- Ongoing assignment that is likely to continue in the next school year
About the behaviour mentor role
Working 1 : 1 with a year 5 child with diagnosed social, emotional and mental health needs, Autism and ADHD.Supporting and monitoring the pupil during regular movement breaks and breaktimes outside of the classroom with a small group of peersDeliver specific interventions that have been designed with the student, their needs and goals in mindBuild a strong and meaningful relationship with the pupil – they are very passionate about sports, particularly boxing, martial arts, rugby, football and swimming, so a shared interest in sports would be highly beneficialThis is a fantastic opportunity if you are considering a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Probation, and Occupational Therapy, providing valuable experience for entering these fields.
