Mechanical Assembly Fitter / Mechanical Fitter

We have a key component overhaul client looking for Mechanical Assembly Fitters on a on-going contract basis in Birkenhead to support ongoing and upcoming contracts.

As a Fitter, you would be working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday day shifts on a rate of £17.28 PAYE. Once passed as competent there will be options to work Shifts increasing the rate to £20.39 PAYE when worked.

As a Fitter, you will safely clean and dismantle rail equipment ensuring key parts are not damaged

Duties of a Fitter would include :

Overhaul, repair, assemble and test a variety of equipment, including warranty returns, refurbished and new : callipers, actuators, discs, couplers, brake controls, etc.

Where equipment does not achieve required outputs, does not fit together, etc. to investigate, fault find and diagnose likely causes and where possible correct the fault.

Operate monitoring, measuring and diagnostic equipment.

Requirements :

Pneumatic understanding would be preferred but not essential.

Ability to perform basic route cause analysis. (I.E finding faulty connectors, leaking pipes, etc.)

Ability to understand basic mechanical drawings / specifications.

Some form of mechanical background or experience

Previous experience in the servicing, repair or overhaul of all types of mechanical components is beneficialYou wi...
