POSITION SUMMARY :

Are you ready to take the lead on resource planning across Group Engineering? We're looking for a Group Engineering Resource Manager to oversee capacity planning, project resource alignment, and system development. This is a key role supporting strategic decision-making with clear insight into resource demand, skills gaps, and planning efficiency. If you're organised, analytical, and thrive on collaboration—this could be your next step.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :

  • Maintain, develop and provide training for engineering planning and project management systems.
  • Maintenance of group engineering resource pool - management of onboarding / offboarding of staff and external contractors as required to meet resource demand.
  • Organise IT equipment, software licensing and provision of system logins.
  • Chair regular IT / engineering steering group.
  • Negotiation and management of 3rd party external resource providers.
  • Reporting of current resource capacity, skills composition, and demand.
  • Maintenance of resource skills profiles and identification of skills gaps based on historic and forecast demand.
  • Scenario planning of resource demand / impact for potential projects and programs to support decision making by engineering leadership team and AD exec.
  • Regular communication of resource insight and recommendations - utilisation, efficiency, pinch-points, skills gaps.
  • Support ongoing business rationale for permanent installed resource capacity and external third-party supplementary capacity.
  • WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL :

  • Accredited project management and / or resource management qualification.
  • Preferably a formal qualification in business management, an engineering discipline, business data analysis and contract negotiation
  • Must have excellent communication, influencing and analysis skills.
  • Can-do attitude, reliable, and able to persevere with challenging projects.
  • Previous resource-management and project management experience essential.
  • Knowledge and first-hand experience of commercial contract management of professional services,
  • Project management, business process management and KPI reporting experience required.
