Job description

Our client is looking for a dedicated Shift Maintenance Technician to join our Critical and Technical Services team. In this role, you will resolve and complete day-to-day work orders in high-priority client environments, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.

Please note this position operates on a continental shift pattern (days / nights), offering varied working hours to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Qualify and act as an Authorized Person (AP) within 6 months of onboarding.

Maintain accurate records of completed and outstanding work using our in-house system.

Ensure all contractors and staff comply with company, client safety, and security requirements.

Participate in the Critical Services Training Program.

Communicate effectively with clients and management.

Collaborate with other technicians to resolve operational challenges.

Provide cover for colleagues during holidays, training, and sickness.

Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance and provide condition assessments of plant and equipment.

Log and address incidents promptly and accurately.

Follow defined procedures to solve straightforward problems while exercising limited discretion.

Skills & Knowledge Required :

Essential :

Strong technical and fault-finding skills

Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds in Electrical (or HNC)

Excellent administrative and procedural skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical services operation

Ability to operate and interrogate BMS systems

Familiarity with business-critical services (UPS, Generators, Comms Rooms)

Desirable :

Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent)

Report writing skills

18th Edition IEE regulations

HV trained

Aptitude & Personal Attributes :

Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks

Highly organized and able to prioritize under pressure

Confident, calm, and professional in high-pressure environments

Self-motivated with a drive for exceptional customer service

Team player with strong energy and integrity

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions :

Continental shift pattern (days / nights)

Out-of-hours availability as part of escalation procedures

Flexibility regarding working hours
