Team Leader (Children’s Home)

Shildon, County Durham

Salary

£28,704 – £31,200 per year (pro rata, dependent on contract). Total take‑home with sleeps = £34,994.

Working Hours

36 / 48‑hour contracts available.

Number of Sleeps

Up to 4 sleeps per month – Pay per sleep £73 (approx. £3,796 per year).

Service

Children’s Home – Service users : Young people with SEMH, Autism and Learning Disabilities.

Qualifications Required

Level 3 Children’s Residential Care qualification (NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People).

Experience Required

Relevant experience in an Ofsted‑registered children’s home is essential.

Employment Type

Permanent, Full‑time.

• You do not hold a Full UK Driving Licence and do not have a car.
• You only hold a Level 3 in Health & Social Care – this is not deemed equivalent.
• Candidates with only HealthCare, NHS, CQC, or Nursery Practitioner qualifications will not be considered.
• You require sponsorship – no sponsorship available.
• Individuals with only CQC experience and who have not worked in an Ofsted‑registered children’s home will not be considered.

You’ll be a key part of a young person’s day‑to‑day life, supporting them through highs and lows and helping them rebuild stability, confidence and positive pathways for adulthood. As Team Leader, you will also support and guide the staff team, help maintain high standards in the home, and be prepared to step up and deputise for the Registered and Deputy Managers when required.
