Main duties of the job

Familiaritywith the pharmacy computer system and its relation to stock management and havea commitment to use any new computer system introduced.

Overseeingthe EDI catalogue and matching new products from the Pharmacy system andamending matches where required contract changes.

Supportingthe Pharmacy Homecare and Contracts Technician with To ensure that goodhousekeeping is maintained in relation to outstanding orders. Reports are runroutinely, suppliers contacted for information on expected delivery dates andold orders cancelled on Bedford and verified with suppliers.

Lookingfor opportunities to take costs out of the Procurement process, rationalising the supplier portfolio, reviewing supplier added costs fortransport and Minimum Order Values.

Ensuringpurchasing requirements for CTASU are ordered each week and any problemsnotified to CTASU as appropriate.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy, in particular knowledge of Pharmacy Purchasing and Stock Management systems.
  • Qualifications

    Essential

  • Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Minimum 3 years Post-Qualification experience.
  • NVQ / BTEC Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or Equivalent qualification.
