About the role
The IT Technician will deliver first-line technical support, manage device rollouts and returns, assist with Wi-Fi troubleshooting and support teachers with classroom technology. The IT Technician will maintain software patching schedules, assist with backups and help ensure basic cybersecurity hygiene across the Nottingham site.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to technical issues, diagnose faults and resolve hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
• Image and deploy laptops/tablets, track assets and maintain an accurate register across Nottingham.
• Support classroom AV, interactive whiteboards and remote-learning set-ups; liaise with external suppliers for specialist fixes.
• Maintain software updates, antivirus measures and assist with routine IT maintenance and backups.
• Provide clear guidance to staff and pupils on using systems safely and effectively.

Person specification

• Experience in IT support or as an IT Technician with hands-on device and basic networking skills.
• Calm, methodical problem-solver with good communication skills suitable for working in Nottingham.
• Able to start January 2026, attend induction and manage both reactive support and small-scale projects.
