Design Engineering Support Engineer

Location : Bedford

Salary : GBP45,000 per year

Hours : Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5.30pm. Fridays, 9am - 3pm.

Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced Design Engineering Support Engineer to join their ever-expanding team.

Responsibilities of the Design Engineering Support Engineer :

• Design support : Assist in the creation and modification of CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation for new and existing products.
• Prototyping and testing : Support prototype builds, testing activities, and data collection to validate and refine product designs.
• Documentation management : Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Cross-functional collaboration : Liaise with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams to gather requirements, resolve queries, and support project deliverables.
• Engineering change management : Assist in the preparation, tracking, and implementation of engineering change requests and documentation.
• Continuous improvement : Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and design optimisation activities.
• Issue tracking : Support the management of reported issues, quality initiatives, and corrective actions as directed by the Design Engineering Lead.
• Team support : Provide general technical and administrative support to the design engineering team, including meeting preparation, minute-taking, and action tracking.
