An established and forward-thinking UK manufacturer is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to drive innovation in the design and integration of electrical, hydraulic, and control systems for its range of industrial machinery. This is a hands-on leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape technology strategy, mentor a skilled team, and contribute directly to the future of sustainable engineering within a growing business.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the Systems Engineering team and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support
Develop and implement system architecture and control strategies across product lines
Contribute to product innovation, including electrification and automation initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and commercial departments
Oversee compliance, documentation, and testing for prototype and production systems

Skill Required

Strong background in Electrical, Control, or Systems Engineering

Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar), PLC programming, and CANbus communication

Knowledge of BS EN ISO 13849-compliant safety systems and DFM principles

Experience in a manufacturing or LEAN engineering environment
