The Person

The Role

As a key support to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll help to ensure our properties shine with excellence. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of workmanship across all maintenance areas, strictly adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities Include

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical work, system maintenance, and carpentry to ensure all facilities are in optimal working condition.
  • Implement a preventive maintenance schedule to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Maintain outdoor areas to a high level of cleanliness, including gardening, public areas, car park area and keeping the property appearance standards up.
  • Diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to resolve maintenance problems promptly.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to staff & guest requests for maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, facilities, public areas, and attraction facilities.
  • Maintain an organised inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintenance work and keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inspections.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe and secure environment for guests and employees.
  • Follow and adhere to safety protocols and be an advocate in and for regular safety training.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping, F&B and management, to coordinate maintenance activities that do not disrupt guest experiences.

Required Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training in maintenance-related fields or industry experience to match this.
  • Proven experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and OSHA regulations is a plus.
