Job description

We are seeking a Design Engineer (Mould Tooling) to work for an international manufacturing company based in Whitstable.

This is a permanent position paying £40,000 to £50,000 pa annum, depending on experience. 37.5 hours pw. Working hours are Monday to Thursday; 8am to 4.30pm and Friday; 8am to 1.30pm. Based on site.

Purpose of the role

To support team in addressing immediate production stops by investigating, identifying root cause and implementing component and tooling design updates inline with manufacturability.
To advise on NPI projects supporting DFM / DFMEA for moulded part / tooling design.

Duties and responsibilities :

Provide fast turnaround corrective actions for Process / Quality issues affecting production, and or customer concerns within the mould shop.

Collaborate with colleagues & cross functional teams across the business by providing moulding process & material knowledge in NPI / APQP project meetings.

Designs, verifies, prepares, and maintains detailed 3D models, technical design drawings, schematics or specifications for 3D moulded components and tooling using Computer Aided Design (CAD)

software (currently Creo).

Able to optimise new component / mould tooling designs using simulation tools such as Moldex 3D.

Coordinates drawing and drawing control activities.

Interfaces as necessary with both internal and external customers during the mould design process / inves...
