Overview

Senior Consultant | UK Renewable Energy Recruitment | Expertise in Planning, Development Management, Investment, Finance & Legal.

Location : London, Hybrid (office based 3–4 days / week), with travel to the UK and Germany as required

Languages Required : Fluency in English and German

Our client is an expert in delivering onsite renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers. Backed by a significant funder and led by a highly experienced management team, the company is scaling across multiple European markets with a strong pipeline of solar PV and battery storage projects.

As they continue to expand their operational portfolio, we are seeking an Asset Manager to join their team. This is a key role responsible for overseeing the performance, optimisation, and long-term value of solar assets across the UK and Germany.

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical knowledge, analytical ability, and commercial awareness, and must be fluent in both English and German.

Responsibilities

  • Asset Performance Management : Monitor and optimise asset performance to maximise output and financial returns.
  • Maintenance Oversight : Coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure minimal downtime and timely issue resolution.
  • Financial Oversight : Track revenue, costs, and ROI across the asset portfolio; provide regular performance reporting.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure assets are compliant with grid regulations, health and safety standards, and legal requirements in the UK and Germany.
  • Contract & PPA Management : Oversee power purchase agreements and service contracts, ensuring obligations are met and commercial outcomes optimised.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Act as the key contact for clients, landlords, grid operators, and internal teams on asset performance and operational issues.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting : Analyse asset performance data and deliver clear, actionable insights to senior management.
  • Project Handover : Support the commissioning and smooth integration of new assets into the operational portfolio.
  • Continuous Improvement : Identify and implement opportunities to enhance asset performance, including integration of emerging technologies like storage.

Candidate Profile

Experience & Background

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in solar asset management, ideally within the commercial & industrial (C&I) or distributed energy sector.
  • Experience working with assets in both the UK and Germany is a strong advantage.
  • Strong technical understanding of PV systems, especially in behind-the-meter applications.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and familiar with data analysis tools and monitoring platforms (e.g., PVsyst, Python, SolarEdge, etc.).
  • Knowledge of energy market regulations, grid compliance and local permitting requirements
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across geographies.
  • Language & Travel

  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Germany (approx. 20–30%).
