The Role

Reporting to : Southern Regional Director

As Area Sales Manager, theaim of your role will be to strengthen relationships with the companys key merchant accounts (inc Merchant Buying Groups and Independents),create demand via contractors, specialist sub-contractors and groundworkers, source leads through project tracking and breaking specifications to ultimately bring orders back through the merchant network.The role would be to actively service and manage the East Anglia region :

Specific duties include :

Develop existing relationships and create new ones so that our Client is the customers 1st choice for their range of products.

Understand the specification process.

Track and follow up on project opportunities from Tender stage

Raise the Companys profile within its existing key stockist base, setting up business plans and sharing project information.

Deliver training and product presentations to Contractors and Merchants.

Be able to negotiate prices within agreed parameters to give the company the best margin opportunities.

Dealing with customers day-to-day requirements.

Knowledge of reading site drawings would be helpful.

Promote and sell new product ranges.

Achieve agreed targets.

Where necessary, assist with New Product Development areas.

Identifying key installing contractors, setting up trading terms and building long-term business objectives

Essential Knowledge and Experience required

In order to be successful in this role, youll need a strong knowledge of the construction supply chain, experience in managing your own geographical area and the ability to work as part of a dedicated field-based team.

Along with this, you will also need :

A track record of Solution Selling

A clean drivers licence

Competent IT skills are required, will need to know how to use MS Office & Outlook

Previous experience utilising a CRM

Good communication skills with a friendly approach are needed

The ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail is a must

A high degree of professionalism and a good understanding of specifier, contractor and merchant relationships is required, with the ability to communicate at each of these levels where necessary.
