Purpose of Position

In this role, you will report to our Recruitment General Manager and work closely with Site Managers or department heads and the wider People and Talent department to ensure all business objectives are met. You will provide a full hands-on recruitment business partnering consultancy service to your assigned business areas through expert knowledge and effective action plans, ensuring we attract and retain the best candidates in the marketplace and provide an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience throughout the recruitment process.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Handling a varied and challenging portfolio of monthly (white collar) roles across all areas of our business, including Operations (Network, Hubs, Transport, and Fleet) and Central Functions (Sales, CRM, IT, Finance, etc.)
  • Extensive liaison with Site Managers and depot management teams to fully understand their needs and requirements.
  • Attending senior meetings across both Operational and Central Function departments regularly, either in person or via G Meet, to gain a greater understanding of peak plan recruitment or any challenges facing their department that could impact recruitment activities.
  • Writing engaging and targeted Job Adverts.
  • Strong headhunting skills with the ability to write effective Boolean search strings across various tools (LinkedIn, CV Library, TotalJobs, etc.).
  • Identifying new and innovative ways to attract candidates in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
  • CV Sifting, Telephone Screening, and Short List Submission.
  • Arranging Interviews on behalf of Hiring Managers.
  • Requesting and providing constructive candidate feedback.
  • Maintain the recruitment system fully and accurately to ensure accurate management reporting and compliance with all company and legislative requirements.
  • Develop Talent Pipelines and utilize this resource effectively.
  • Educate Hiring Managers on key employment law legislation pertinent to the recruitment process.

You will have extensive recruitment experience and be comfortable managing a large portfolio (circa 30) of monthly roles while working within a pressurized and fast-paced environment. You will have a natural ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders and candidates, delivering outstanding service to ensure our stakeholders' and candidates' expectations are met.

  • Ability to handle multiple recruitment campaigns and multiple stakeholders across a wide geographical area.
  • Strong communication and administration skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • High levels of resilience and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Good levels of computer literacy (G Suite and Microsoft) with the ability to analyze data.

  • Knowledge of SmartRecruiter or any other ATS systems would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential, as is a flexible approach to travel and occasional overnight stays.
