Overview
The University of London is the UK’s largest provider of international distance and online learning and the convenor of a federation of 17 London-based universities. Senate House Library is the central library for the University of London, specializing in Arts, Humanities and Social Science Research Collections and Special Collections. The Library is seeking to recruit one Customer Services Officer to be based within the Special Collections team and to work alongside the main customer services team within Senate House Library. The successful candidate will also work with our Virtual Reading Room service, giving remote users access to some of our most fascinating special collections material from anywhere in the world.
This is a part time role of 28 hours per week. Exact work patterns will be arranged between the recruiting manager and the successful candidate.

Responsibilities
The role involves providing customer services to Library users, supporting the Special Collections team, and delivering access to our Virtual Reading Room services for remote users. Specific duties include assisting visitors, handling inquiries, and contributing to a welcoming and efficient library experience for staff and researchers.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in customer service or library / curatorial environments is desirable. Strong communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and attention to detail are important for this role.
