About the role
The role is as a driver in the Shetland Community Transport Service. Our service provides transport for clients across Shetland, taking them to hospital and GP appointments as well as social appointments such as lunch clubs or social clubs.
Key responsibilities
- Providing transport for clients across Shetland using a wheelchair accessible vehicle
- Ensuring wheelchair passengers are transferred into and out of the vehicle safely
- Assisting the Service Manager to meet KPIs and keep the service running smoothly
- Ensure compliance with associated standards, policies and procedures e.g. Health and Safety, Infection Control
- Data Protection and Adult Protection
Qualifications
Full, current driving licenceExcellent communication skillsUnderstanding of wheelchair accessible vehicles and how to secure a wheelchair would be an advantageGood geographical knowledge of Shetland and road networks around major townsPVG membership requiredBenefits
