Are you the candidate we are looking for? At Shaftesbury Kathleen House we are recruiting for Enabling Support Workers. We are looking for people with the passion, talent, skills and experience that all add up to a caring and community-minded workforce. We believe that the people we support have the right to a full and flourishing life. They deserve the very best in delivery. Driven by our core values, Shaftesbury strives to be Open, Enabling, Inclusive and Courageous in all that we do. Our disability services across adult care, children’s care and education are all focused on inclusion and support. Committed to professional, flexible and personalised care, we are passionate about going the extra mile in providing opportunities for people to thrive and live well.

About the role

As an Enabling Support Worker it will be your role to provide support and encouragement, by taking direction from both the person supported and the person centred support plan.

You will be required to maintain accurate records while at work, in line with the service requirements. You may also be required to administer personal care and medication.

There will be a requirement to cover sleep in sessions. You will be paid an additional £60 per sleep in.

About Shaftesbury West

Shaftesbury Independent Living specialises in providing flexible, client-driven approach to care, health and inclusion requirements for people with a wide range of needs and living situations. Whether support is needed for an hour or two, or up to 24 hours a day, we help people to get the most out of life and their local community.

Benefits of working at Shaftesbury

  • Welcome to Shaftesbury bonus of £500 on completion of 12 months of employment (terms apply)
  • Birthday day off option for frontline care staff, from annual entitlement
  • Great CQC ratings rewards : gift vouchers for good or outstanding ratings
  • Recognition opportunities and potential gifts for going above and beyond
  • Excellent training package
  • Generous annual leave entitlement : 25 days + 8 bank holidays (increasing to 28 days + 8 bank holidays after 5 years)
  • Pension scheme
  • Access to employee assistance program

Shaftesbury is the disability charity that’s committed to enabling children, young people and adults to live a life that adds up for them. What makes life liveable is the sum of many things—friendship, fun, companionship, community, conversation and challenge overcome. Through a wide range of disability care, special education, and rehabilitation services we promote inclusion and wellbeing for all. We work to help people take part, contribute and be valued. We put the elements in place that all add up to connected lives.

Shaftesbury is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and adults and expects all employees to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an enhanced DBS / Access NI check.

Shaftesbury is committed to the Disability Confident Scheme and to equal opportunities; we welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.
