Job Title : Practitioner Psychologist
Location : Underley Gardens School – Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ; Waterloo Lodge School, Chorley, PR6 7AX; Oakfield House School, Preston, PR4 0YH. Contract : Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed). Hours : 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours. Flexible / full-time hours considered. Salary : Up to £70,000 (pro rata, DOE) plus £3,000 Welcome Bonus (one payment of £1,500 after one month and one payment of £1,500 after completion of final probation; T&Cs apply).

The role sits within a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering psychological assessment and intervention in an education setting, with opportunities for professional development, training, and involvement in research and network activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver psychological assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs, in collaboration with the education team.
- Hold a psychological caseload with supervision and site leadership support; contribute to school development, staff training and consultation as required.
- Work within the OFG Psychological Practice Ways of Working to guide practice and maintain professional standards.
- Develop formulations and inform clinical intervention plans; write coherent and accurate clinical records, reports and intervention plans.
- Develop and deliver training to different cohorts; participate in safeguarding and pupil-centred decision making.
- Contribute to service development and improvement, including multi-disciplinary collaboration and liaison with families, carers and external agencies.
- Engage in CPD and use evaluation tools to demonstrate service effectiveness and outcomes.
- Travel between sites as required; hold a full driving licence and access to a car.
Essential Criteria
HCPC registration.Doctoral level degree in Clinical / Counselling / Forensic / Educational Psychology (or equivalent if qualified prior to Doctorate introduction).Relevant previous experience in related settings or with related client groups.Experience of effective multi-disciplinary working and communication with families / relatives and carers.Experience in service development, group and individual work; ability to use consultation as a service delivery method.Competence in core areas of psychological practice aligned with HCPC standards; knowledge of trauma-informed practice and neuro-diversity.Ability to develop formulations, deliver training, create clinical records, and communicate clearly on complex matters.Effective IT skills and ability to use core computer programmes and platforms; ability to work with a range of professionals.Evidence of CPD and ability to evaluate service effectiveness and outcomes.Ability to make independent clinical decisions when necessary; strong time management and organisational skills.Flexible approach to working environments and willingness to travel for company business.Full driving licence and access to a car.Desirable
Experience with neuro-diverse populations or SEMH in schools or residential care settings.Experience providing supervision; knowledge of current philosophies underpinning services for the client group.Post-qualification training in related topics; training in evidence-based interventions / approaches.Benefits and Development
