Job description

HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a highly qualified and strategic Head of Employment to lead our Employment Law practice. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to establish and develop a comprehensive Employment Law team, delivering expert legal support and guidance to clients on a wide range of employment issues.

The key responsibilities include :

Creating a dedicated Employment Law team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Providing expert advice on employment contracts, workplace policies, employee rights, and compliance with employment legislation.
Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and litigation for employment disputes.
Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the visibility and reach of the Employment Law practice.
Conducting training for clients on employment law matters and best practices.
Staying abreast of changes in employment legislation and ensuring the practice remains compliant.
Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and potential referral sources.
Mentoring and developing junior staff while overseeing departmental performance and financial metrics.

Requirements

Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in employment law.

Proven track record in leading and growing legal teams.

Strong business development and client relationship management skills.

Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.

In-depth knowledge of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Ability to handle sensitive employment issues with discretion and empathy.

Commitment to professional development and mentoring of junior team members.
